Experience the incredible scenery, aboriginal art and Kimberley wildlife of the Gibb River Road. For those with limited time this is the only road to take through the Kimberley. Explore the Kimberley's ancient mountain ranges, gorges and rivers along the Gibb River Road as you travel between Broome and Kununurra.
Kimberley Tour DAY 1: Broome - Windjana Gorge
We depart Broome and travel via the Derby Prison Tree for a short visit. We leave the bitumen behind as we enter the Gibb River Road, almost instantly we can feel the remoteness. A walk up Windjana Gorge this afternoon is sure to impress. The area is rich in Aboriginal culture and your guide will tell you about the “outlaw” Jandamurra, the Bunaba people and the battle of Devil's Pass. Camping overnight Windjana National Park. (L/D)
Kimberley Tour DAY 2: Windjana - Bells Gorge
This morning we’re off to Tunnel Creek, have your bathers and torches ready. Here you will get your feet wet as we explore Jandamurra's hideout. This amazing tunnel cuts through the Napier Range and is rich in history, ask your guide. Afternoon sees us off to Bells Gorge. Camping overnight Bells Gorge. (B/L/D)
Kimberley Tour DAY 3: Bells Gorge - Manning
Leaving Bells Gorge this morning, we travel through the beautiful scenery of the Kimberley’s highest mountain range, King Leopold Ranges, on our way to Galvans Gorge. This gorge will tempt you to don the bathers. For those feeling like a walk, a visit to Manning Gorge this afternoon is recommended. Camping overnight Mt Barnett Station. (B.L.D)
Kimberley Tour DAY 4: Manning Gorge – El Questro
Our journey today takes us through the majestic Cockburn Ranges, have your cameras ready for the spectacular scenery and panoramic views of the Cockburn Ranges, Cambridge Gulf and the twin rivers of the Durack and Pentecost. Camping overnight El Questro. (B.L.D)
Kimberley Tour DAY 5: El Questro - Kununurra
The morning sees us soaking in the thermal pools of Zebedee Springs, and an option to hike some of the spectacular gorges of El Questro before we head to the Kimberley town of Kununurra where our journey ends. (B/L)
